OVERALL
OBJECTIVES
• To identify foreseeable hazards which may present a
risk to health and safety of employees, volunteers and passengers.
• To take action to remove or minimise health and safety
risks by taking the appropriate control measures.
•
To develop a safe system of work which is practical and appropriate
to the experience and training of the employees/volunteers involved.
•
To monitor health and safety standards and the operations of
safe systems of work on a regular basis, in order to ensure
that these aims are achieved.
•
To make certain that the management and employees are aware
of and accept their individual and shared legal responsibility
in the care of health and safety of themselves and others.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ARRANGEMENTS
Under
the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 Dial-a-Community Bus
and subsidiary companies have a duty to comply with the legal
requirements relating to health and safety at work.
In
order to meet these responsibilities and comply with the relevant
legislation, Buchan Dial-a-Community Bus has identified the
following specific responsibilities:

The health and safety of all our employees, and the provision
of the most suitable environment and conditions of work; from
a health and safety point of view.
•
To communicate with employees in order to co-operate in promoting,
developing and monitoring the effectiveness of measures undertaken
by management to ensure health and safety at work.
•
To provide information, instruction, training and supervision
necessary to ensure employees’ and volunteers’ health
and safety at work.
•
To ensure that our service is provided in such a way that our
passengers and the general public are not exposed to avoidable
risk regarding health and safety.
