Bus Congratulates Drivers on Presentation of IAM Certificates
Buchan
Community Safety Group gave Buchan Dial-a-Community Bus a grant
which enabled them to provide the Institute of Advanced Motorist’s
(IAM) Advanced Driver Training for several of the charity’s
drivers.
The
drivers recently completed their training and are now the proud
owners of IAM certificates. They gathered together to be congratulated
on their achievement by the IAM’s local examiner John
Turner and the Chair of the Buchan Community Safety Group Cllr
Anne Allan.

DACB
General Manager, Rachel Milne, said: “Dial-a-Community
Bus has an enormous responsibility and a duty of care for our
hundreds of clients being driven around Aberdeenshire every
week which we take very seriously.
We are
constantly looking at driver training and safety but we are
constrained by budgets, so this funding has proved very valuable
indeed. We really appreciate this donation from the Community
Safety group”.
She
went on to praise the DACB drivers;
“Although
Dial-a-Community Bus provided the vehicle the drivers undertook
the lessons and the test in their own time. They have all agreed
that it was time and effort well spent and that they all gained
some extra skills and insights. We’re really proud of
them and their achievements.”
Councillor
Anne Allan who chairs the Buchan Community Safety Group, said;
“The group were unanimous in the decision to help fund
such a worthy cause and we are pleased to share in the driver’s
successes”.
IAM
test examiner John Turner added, “I am also very glad
to have been involved in the success of the DACB drivers and
am sure it will be instrumental in maintaining the high standard
of driving I have seen from the drivers”.
