DAB Plus c.i.cis our associated social enterprise which provides an additional range of complimentary vehicle training services to the local community. They have their own website which details all their training Services.
A previous and well loved volunteer; Wendy Durston has returned to Aberdeenshire after 8 years abroad and has agreed to return to volunteering with DACB and head up our Fundraising Team.
Dial-a-Commmunity Bus has received a £10,000 boost towards our New Bus Appeal.
DACB is fundraising to replace two of our oldest buses; one of which had to be decommissioned in January due to its condition. To replace both of these buses will cost approximately £80,000 - £83,000 so Nestrans grant is deeply appreciated.
So far the total raised is £64,750 which leave approx £15,000 to go.
Thansk to Nestrans for their invaluable contribution; we're very grateful.
Any ideas for the last £15,000 gratefully received!
Due to funding cuts beyond our control, we must advise that, barring any last offers of help from funding partners, the APT (health transport) service will close at the end of the financial year.
Dial-a- Community Bus has taken this decision with great difficulty and sadness but in order to safeguard the wider help we provide our clients through our core services, we had no option.
This means that all APT transport will cease from 31st March 2012.
The new bus is scheduled to arrive during mid April.
Currently we are planning a small event with the Eilidh Whiteford (local MP) to 'launch' the bus on Friday 11th May. We will update the news page once details have been confirmed.
